Resident Loses Challenge Coin In Burglary Case: Report

Police in Oak Creek say the resident left his unlocked car in the driveway of his home - only to have a suspect make off with several items.

OAK CREEK, WI -- An Oak Creek resident says a burglary suspect stole his National Guard challenge coin and other personal items in a vehicle break-in on the night of June 7.

According to Oak Creek police call logs, officers responded to a home on the 2600 block of W. St. John's Way just after 10 a.m. on June 8 on a report of the theft.

Police say a suspect entered an unlocked vehicle that was parked in the home's driveway and stole several items from inside, including the challenge coin, and a gray Adidas backpack that contained a number of school supplies.

Police said the driver's side door handle was damaged in the theft. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
