Robotics Club Featuring OCHS Students Brings Home Award
Students, including some from Oak Creek High School, gained life skills through hands-on applications.
Enthusiasm, dedication and hard work brought home the Excellence in Design Award for a local robotics club at the FIRST Wisconsin Regional Robotics Competition last week at the U.S. Cellular Arena.
The MORE Community Robotics Club 1714 is made up of students from nine area high schools, including Oak Creek, with volunteer mentors and parent and alumni volunteers.
Mentors include experts in the field who work with student teams and help them learn technical skills.

The first challenge involved picking up an inflatable triangle, circle and square tubes, and placing them on the rack in order of the FIRST logo.
The second challenge was to deploy their mini-bot which attached to one of the poles to climb up.
