Shots Fired Near Oak Creek Meijer, Multiple Arrests: Police

Oak Creek police initially received an emergency call from a Meijer employee stating that there was a retail theft in progress.

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek police made multiple arrests Monday following a retail theft and report of gunshots.

On Monday, Dec. 11, Oak Creek police received an emergency call from a Meijer employee stating that there was a retail theft in progress.

When police arrived at the scene Monday at 171 W. Town Square Way, they saw a man run out of the store and flee officers on foot. Police began a foot pursuit and took him into custody.

According to reports, police officers heard a series of gunshots in the area of the parking lot. Officers reported seeing a man firing a handgun east toward Howell Ave. Officers also took that person into custody. Reports indicated that police took two others into custody for questioning related to the incident.

Reports indicated that two of the suspects were transported to the hospital with apparent injuries. Police are asking for the public's help in determining whether any other people were involved in the apparent crime.
