Man Who Tried Carjacking Sleeping Woman Is At Large: Police
Police are searching for a suspect accused of robbing and attempting to carjack a woman who was sleeping in her car on the side of the road.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek have released a composite sketch of the suspect they believe was involved in staging an armed robbery and attempted carjacking of a woman who was resting in her car on the side of the road.
Oak Creek police officials say they took the report of an armed robbery on April 19 between 1:20 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. on S. Howell Ave. and County Line Rd.
Oak Creek Patch reported earlier this week that a woman who pulled to the side of the road in the 10100 block of S. Howell Ave. just before 2 p.m. on April 19 woke up in a nightmare situation.

According to police reports, a woman was napping in her vehicle for about 10 minutes when she was startled awake when a man opened her driver's side door. The unknown suspect, armed with a black semi-automatic handgun ordered her not to speak and grabbed her cell phone and charger that were in the center console of the car.
According to reports, she tried grabbing her phone, as she and the man became embroiled in a physical struggle. The suspect then tried reaching for her keys that were in the ignition and grabbed them - only to drop them on the ground shortly afterward.

According to police reports, after the incident, she saw two men in their early 20s run back to their car - an older green four-door - to speed away from the scene.
According to reports, at just after midnight on April 20, Franklin police contacted authorities in Oak Creek saying that they arrested two men in a vehicle matching the description that the woman initially provided police. Police later learned that the two men Franklin police apprehended were not the suspects they were looking for.
