SnapChat Conflict Escalated In Oak Creek High Classroom: Police

Police and school officials advised two quarreling Oak Creek High School students after a SnapChat flap played out in a classroom.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police and school officials advised two quarreling Oak Creek High School students after a conflict that played out on the smartphone app SnapChat spilled out into a contentious classroom situation, according to police reports.

Police in Oak Creek responded to the Oak Creek High School just after 1 p.m. on Nov. 15 on a report of disorderly conduct.

According to police reports, a student at the school had been having issues with another student at the school since Monday of that week.

On Nov. 15, police were called to the school on a report that one of the two students had her cell phone taken away due to her posting threatening messages on SnapChat since 10 a.m. that morning. About three hours later, the other student retaliated, by showing up at the other student's classroom with about five to seven other students to intimidate the student and initiate a physical confrontation. Reports indicated that the classroom situation was diffused by school personnel working with law enforcement.

Reports also indicated that school officials and police had both spoken to each of the quarreling students about their behavior and about messages posted on social media.
