Stolen $82K Oak Creek Work Truck Turns Up In Gurnee: Report

OAK CREEK, WI -- A truck and trailer valued at a combined $82,000 was stolen out of Oak Creek over the weekend and recovered in Illinois, police say.

According to Oak Creek police reports, the owner of Kujawa Enterprises reported that a suspect got behind the wheel of his company's 2017 Chevrolet Silverado truck and trailer on the night of March 31, and rammed the company's entrance gate in order to escape.

Police said they were able to track the stolen vehicle as it was driven south on I-94 to a Holiday Inn in Gurnee, Illinois.

Police reported that Gurnee officers recovered the stolen vehicle and trailer, but had no sign of the person who stole it.

Oak Creek police also noted two other developments at the scene of the stolen truck in Oak Creek: another of the company's vehicles was found running in a different part of the parking lot from which it was parked for the night, and the presence of a street sweeper that was parked outside the lot with two smashed-out windows.
