Suspects Sought In Oak Creek Kwik Trip Cigarette Scheme
Police in Oak Creek report that two suspects tried stealing cigarettes at every Oak Creek Kwik Trip, and fled in a stolen vehicle.

OAK CREEK, WI -- Police in Oak Creek are reporting that two men in a stolen vehicle attempted to steal cigarettes at each Kwik Trip in the city, only to evade authorities in Glendale later in the day.
According to Oak Creek police reports, two men entered the Ryan Road Kwik Trip just after 4 p.m. on April 15 seeking cigarettes. Reports stated that they asked the clerk for two cartons of cigarettes. The clerk placed the cartons on the counter, only to have the two men then ask for cigars.
Reports stated that as the clerk went to get the cigars, the two men grabbed the cigarettes and fled in a 2006 Toyota SUV that had been stolen out of Milwaukee.

When police followed up with other Oak Creek Kwik Trip stores, managers at the other stores told police that men matching the description of the April 15 theft case tried the same scheme at their stores.
According to reports, a few hours later, police in Glendale said they pursued the same SUV in their jurisdiction, however had to break off the pursuit due to high speeds and safety considerations. Police in Glendale said they eventually recovered the vehicle, but the suspects could not be found.
