Travel Update: Hoan Bridge to be Closed July 3
Travelers should plan alternate routes on Sunday as Milwaukee fireworks cause planned closure of 794.

Milwaukee, WI – The Sheriff’s Office will be closing Lincoln Memorial Drive and the Hoan Bridge after 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, to ensure the safety of the crowds at the lakefront for the fireworks display. The Sheriff’s Office will partner with the Milwaukee Police Department and county Parks Department on crowd control and traffic mitigation.
Visitors hoping to park at lots accessible from Lincoln Memorial Drive should plan to arrive early. Once parking lots are full, which has occurred as early as 6:00 p.m., Lincoln Memorial Drive will be closed to traffic.
The Hoan Bridge will be closed in both directions when Lincoln Memorial Drive is closed. I-794 traffic from the south to the east, north to the east and eastbound through will be open only to Summerfest shuttle bus traffic, until the conclusion of the fireworks display. Other vehicles will be diverted off onto city streets.
