Truck Stolen; Owner Says Keys Were Left In Ignition: Report

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek say the owner of a truck left his keys in the ignition overnight - and that it was stolen from his driveway.

According to Oak Creek Police call logs, a resident on the 2100 block of E. Drexel Ave. contacted police, saying that his 2001 Chevrolet Silverado was stolen from his driveway sometime between 9 p.m. on Aug. 1 and 11 a.m. on Aug. 2.

The truck owner told police he parked his truck in the driveway of his home, and left it unlocked. He told police that he usually locks his vehicles at night, however forgot overnight. The truck owner said he left his keys in the ignition, and that there was nothing of value inside at the time it was stolen.
