Twelve Road Projects Get Go-Ahead For 2011

Council may add more if bids are favorable.

A got the final approval from the Common Council on Tuesday. 

The construction totals about $780,000. If bids come back less than expected, however, a few more projects could be added to the list, Oak Creek officials said.

The biggest project on the list is a stretch of 20th Street between College and Rawson avenues.

Alderman Dan Bukiewicz, who represents that area, was happy that street is finally getting improved and said residents would be excited too.

The list includes only local streets and not construction taking place on state highways or county roads.

The recommendations come from the engineering department, which recently conducted its annual city-wide inspection and rated the condition of each street.
