Upset Ex-Boyfriend Put Baby Up For Sale Online For $100: Police

OAK CREEK, WI —Police in Oak Creek say an upset ex-boyfriend who just got out of jail put his child for sale for $100 on a local rummage website to irk his former girlfriend and mother of his child.

Oak Creek police were called to the incident just after noon on April 15 on a report of an Internet-related crime.

According to police reports, a person called the police, reporting that a baby was for sale on the Oak Creek and Surrounding Areas Rummage Facebook page.

Police reported that a screenshot from the page showed that an Oak Creek man was offering to sell a baby for $100.

When police followed-up on the contact link on the page, the woman who responded said that the post was made by an ex-boyfriend and not her.

When police made contact with the man, he said it was his ex-girlfriend who posted it. Police made contact with the ex-boyfriend's relative who had knowledge of the situation, who told police that the ex-boyfriend was just released from jail on an assault-related charged and that the ex-girlfriend was upset and refusing to speak with him.

According to reports, the man, who was located in Milwaukee, was paid a visit by the Milwaukee police department to speak with the man and further handle the case.
