Van Fully Engulfed In Flames In Oakwood Area: Police

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek firefighters responded along with police to a home on the 4400 block of E. Oakwood Rd. just before noon on Jan. 4 on a report of a fire.

According to police reports, the owner of a van left it on the property over the last two weeks and had come by on Jan. 4 to move it to a different location.

Reports indicated that the van's owner started the vehicle, but it became stuck in the snow while in the yard. While it was running, the van started on fire.

Oak Creek fire doused the flaming van, however, the van was determined to be a total loss. Police reports indicated that the van owner did not have insurance on the vehicle.
