Volunteers from PPG Help Vitalize Nonprofit's Library

The Grand Avenue Club provides education, housing and recreational opportunities to those who struggle with mental illness.

OAK CREEK, WI -- Volunteer workers from PPG in Oak Creek helped revitalize Milwaukee's Grand Avenue Club through the Colorful Communities project. Twenty PPG and Grand Avenue Club volunteers worked 15 hours painting and refreshing the club’s library in Downtown Milwaukee.

The Grand Avenue Club provides pre-vocational, employment, educational, housing, recreational and cultural opportunities to adults who have been struggle with a mental health diagnosis. The nonprofit serves 425 people annually throughout Southeast Wisconsin and is open 365 days a year.

The Colorful Communities program provides PPG volunteers and products along with financial contributions to support organizations where the company operates, including Oak Creek, where the company has an industrial coatings facility.
