Woman Has Purse Stolen While She Pumped Gas In Oak Creek: Police

Police say a man pulled his vehicle up to hers, opened the passenger-side door, and stole a purse from her vehicle.

OAK CREEK, WI — A woman pumping gas at an Oak Creek gas station had her purse stolen out of her vehicle.

Oak Creek police responded to the Mobil gas station on the 1200 block of W. Rawson Ave. just before noon on Nov. 1 on a report of a theft from a vehicle.

According to police reports, the woman was pumping gas at the Mobil when her purse was stolen from her car. When police reviewed the gas station's surveillance footage, they saw the woman exit her Toyota Rav4 to pump gas, only to watch as a man pulled his vehicle up to hers, opened the passenger-side door, and stole a purse from her vehicle.

According to reports, a black Coach purse containing a driver's license, a work ID card, a debit card, several gift cards, medication, and cash, was stolen from the car.

Reports indicated that the apparent suspect attempted to buy a $275 cell phone at Walmart later that day. The transaction did not go through. The suspects left the store and dropped the purse in the Walmart parking lot. According to the police report, the suspects pulled up to another vehicle and took a purse from that vehicle and left out the parking lot.

The suspects have not been located.
