Woman Pointed Gun At Boyfriend Over Cell Phone Texts: Report

Police say a woman pointed her boyfriend's loaded handgun at him after he refused to show her the text messages on his cell phone.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek say they are in search of a woman who reportedly pointed a gun at her boyfriend after he wouldn't show her texts on his cell phone.

City of Oak Creek police officers responded to a home on the 1800 block of W. Meyer Lane just after 7:30 p.m. on May 20 on a report of disorderly conduct.

According to Oak Creek police reports, an Oak Creek man called the police, saying that his girlfriend, who will be identified after formal charges are filed, stole his cell phone and pointed a gun at him.

Reports stated that police questioned the boyfriend, who told police that he got into an argument with her because she wanted to view his text messages on his cell phone. He didn't want her to see them and prevented her from seeing the phone.

In the report, the man said that he and his girlfriend had been drinking over the previous several hours. He went to lay on his bed to get away from her when she entered the room and grabbed his Glock .19 handgun located on his nightstand.

According to the report, she pointed the loaded gun at her boyfriend, had her finger on the trigger at times and was ordering him to show her his cell phone. The boyfriend was able to grab the gun away from her, who then left the home in a maroon GMC Terrain.

According to reports, police attempted to track down the woman to no avail. Police reported that they intend to record the incident and charge her with first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
