Work Van Fire At Burger King Attributed To Boiler: Report
An employee was performing maintenance work on the roof of the Burger King reportedly saw a van smoking "more than usual."
OAK CREEK, WI -- Authorities in Oak Creek say a worker acted quickly to put out a van fire in the parking lot of the Oak Creek Burger King during the early morning hours of May 31.
According to Oak Creek police call logs, an employee was performing maintenance work on the roof of the Burger King at just before 1:30 a.m. when he reportedly saw a van smoking "more than usual" from his vantage point. When he went to get a closer look, he reported seeing flames extending about six feet above the roof.
Police say the employee acted quickly, and managed to put out the fire. When the Oak Creek fire department arrived, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire. When they investigated, they learned that a boiler that was located in the back of the work van malfunctioned, and ignited insulation within the boiler.
