Zünd America, Inc. Eyes Oak Creek for U.S. Headquarters

OAK CREEK, WI — This week, the City of Oak Creek broke the news that Drexel Town Square will be the home for the world headquarters for a North American company's operations.

According to city officials, Zünd America, Inc. is in the process of purchasing a 3.4-acre parcel from Woodman’s Food Market with the intention of building a new U.S. Headquarters for its growing North American Sales and Service operations.

The new building will be a combination of offices, show room and warehouse space. Zünd Systemtechnik AG, a company specializing in industrial, precision cutting machines has world headquarters in Altstätten, Switzerland.

“Drexel Town Square revealed a unique opportunity for our company given its growing urban amenities,” stated Chris Nicholson, Vice President. “When our corporate leadership toured the development, they were awed that such new urbanist stylings could be found in the United States.”

Site specifics and building construction timelines are yet to be determined, but Zünd America, Inc. is centering on approximately 45,000 square foot for its building footprint. The company intends to submit formal plans to Oak Creek officials, and the City will also discuss a formal development agreement for the project, in the coming weeks.

This announcement truly speaks to efforts the City has made in creating a well-planned, welcoming environment in Drexel Town Square,” said Andrew Vickers, City Administrator.

A corporate presence further rounds out the diverse portfolio of land uses planned for the development. Zünd America, Inc. joins a mix of large and small retail, civic, green space and medical uses, varied residential offerings, as well as a Marriott TownePlace Suites hotel development.
