1. 2 teens arrested after stealing guns from unlocked vehicle, Oshkosh police say (wtaq.com) — Oshkosh police arrested two teens carrying handguns stolen from an unlocked vehicle, part of a recent spike of 33 reported vehicle thefts or entries since Sept. 27, including three stolen guns. With incidents near Lourdes High School and several involving unlocked cars, officers are urging residents to remove valuables, secure firearms properly, and lock their vehicles to help curb the trend.
2. Explore Oz and Chicago jewelry at Oshkosh Public Museum (wearegreenbay.com) — You can now explore a behind-the-scenes look at the 1939 Wizard of Oz film and a dazzling collection of Chicago-area jewelry at the Oshkosh Public Museum. The "Land of Oz: Beyond the Page" exhibit runs through March 20 alongside "Chicago Collects: Jewelry in Perspective," inviting residents to discover new art, history, and design just up the road.
3. Over 3,000 beef sticks donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh (wearegreenbay.com) — The Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh just received over 3,000 protein-packed beef sticks from the Wisconsin Beef Council to help keep kids fueled during after-school programs. Funded through the Council's "United By Beef" campaign, the donation supports efforts to reduce youth food insecurity during non-school hours in the Oshkosh community.
4. Wisconsin high school students showcase personal passion projects (wearegreenbay.com) — First-year students in Oshkosh West High School's Academy for Global Studies recently shared hands-on passion projects with classmates, teachers, and the community. From vinyl records to pediatrics, teens spent weeks researching and building displays that showcased what they care about, while also getting to know their Oshkosh peers' interests in a more creative, less traditional classroom setting.
5. Seroogy's Chocolates ends Muza run for Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin (thenorthwestern.com) — An Oshkosh-made product, Muza Sheet Metal's Barrel Collection, has been knocked out of the statewide Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin contest by Seroogy's Chocolates. The family-owned firm designs wood-look metal wall panels produced at its Oshkosh and Windsor facilities, continuing the city's strong manufacturing tradition that previously saw Oshkosh Corporation win the same contest.
