County sets rules for children riding in taxis (ozaukeepress.com) — If you rely on Ozaukee County's Shared Ride Taxi in Port Washington, new rules starting Nov. 1 mean kids must be at least 12 to ride alone and younger children must have proper car or booster seats. The county also tightened penalties and optional fees for repeated no-shows, which could affect how reliably residents get to work, school, and appointments.
2. 'This is our biggest school' (ozaukeepress.com) — Families in the Port Washington-Saukville School District are flocking to a revamped summer school program that now enrolls 1,155 students, making it effectively the district's largest "school." Officials say the three-session format, centralized middle-school location, free busing, and mix of academic support and fun enrichment classes boost learning, ease staffing, and even help the district's state funding formula for future years.

Port Washington residents await ruling on approved referendum tied to future development projects (tmj4.com) — Port Washington residents are waiting to see if a voter-approved ordinance giving them a direct say on large developments and new TIF districts will be struck down in Ozaukee County court. Supporters frame it as an anti–data center safeguard, while business groups warn it could chill investment in Port Washington and beyond, leaving the city's future growth rules in limbo.
4. Oracle data center deal could lower We Energies electric bills (jsonline.com) — Oracle's planned Port Washington AI data center campus may buy power directly from the Point Beach nuclear plant, a move the company says could save We Energies customers about $300 million in fuel costs between 2027 and 2033. Regulators still must approve the deal, and consumer advocates say the details will determine how much Port Washington households actually benefit on future electric bills.
