A Love Affair with Books and a Sale

There is just something about a book — the feel of the tattered pages, the creak of the spine as you open to the first page, the smell of the ink — nothing can ever compare.

Call me 'old-fashioned' but I just cannot accept the popularity of e-books.

Sure, I understand the arguement of conservation. Less printed books means more trees for future generations, but ...

Yesterday my son and I patronized the book sale at the W.J. Niederkorn library in Port Washington. As soon as I walked through the door my heart began to skip-a-beat with excitement.

Tables and tables of books. From mysteries to self-help to fiction — there truly is something for everyone.

Nothing can ever compare to or replace a book.

The book sale at the library gives all the opportunity to experience not only the joy of a great bargain but the journey into a world of great reading. Where else can you purchase a hard cover for $1 or a paperback for 50 cents?

The book sale runs through Saturday and all proceeds benefit the library. Make time to check it out.
