Port Washington may not have a lot of royal scandals, but we sure do like reading about them. I, for one, love it! Sure, the modern scandals can be amazing, but I love the history, the lineage of the royals and their relationships to their country and peoples, even to members of their own family. And the timing is perfect to indulge myself in everything royal.

Among these pages I read of a reluctant king, second in line to the throne, only to be thrust into the limelight upon the abdication of his elder brother, Edward. The reluctant king; a quiet man, a shy man, a man who stuttered when forced into public situations.
How could this man become king? You may ask, while reading his amazing story.

And, after reading his story, I can assure you, you will learn that he becomes one of the greatest king’s in British history.
King George VI has a unique story, one recently told on screen in the movie The King’s Speech, winning numerous film honors, including an Academy Award for Best Actor, Best Screenplay and Best Picture.
