South Beach Benefits from "World's Largest Cleanup"
Volunteers with Treasures of Oz join thousands of people cleaning Midwest beaches on Saturday, by adopting South Beach in Port Washington for two hours of fun, friends and a little competition.

On Saturday, Alliance for the Great Lakes and Adopt-a-Beach will facilitate the World’s Largest Cleanup with thousands of volunteers from Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio combing the beaches.
South Beach in Port Washington is one of the lucky beaches to be adopted. Working with the Great Lakes Alliance, Treasures of Oz will host a beach cleanup to pick up the trash (pretty self-explanatory) and, more importantly, will keep detailed inventory of the items collected.
Treasures coordinators know that nothing can enliven a cleanup like passionate Ozaukeeans and some friendly competition — so this is exactly what they decided to do.

Volunteers are split into teams for a two-hour cleaning frenzy. Who will be crowned “most creative find” or “winner by sheer bulk”? No matter who goes home with the bragging rights, everyone wins with safe water and clean beaches.
