Double Play Gives Pirates Win Over Mavericks

Port Washington U-10 Boys Baseball Travel team faced the Merton Mavericks on Tuesday night.

Port Washington U-10 Boys Baseball Travel team won 9-8 against the Merton Mavericks on Tuesday night.

Both U-10 teams played great defensively and offensively. The Pirates moved ahead to 9-8 with the winning run coming in with two outs. Marcus Schmit scored the go ahead run, taking home the win after the Maverick's come back with base runners was stopped by a Pirates double play.

The Port Pirates play in the State Baseball league; their record is 11-9, and they have won two tournaments this season.
