HIT: The HIT portion of the program will test a competitor’s ability to hit from a stationary batting tee, along a tape measure from home plate, toward straight-away centerfield.  Hits will be measured for distance and accuracy.  Note: Participants may use their own bat.  If a participant brings his/her own bat, it must be made available to all others competing.  Each competitor will be allowed three swings in an attempt to hit the ball.  Only the best of the three attempts will count toward a score. Boys in all age divisions will use baseballs.  Girls in the 7/8 and 9/10 age divisions will use 11-inch softballs, and girls in the 11/12 and 13/14 age divisions will use 12-inch softballs.

RUN: The RUN portion of the program will measure a competitor’s speed in a sprint from the start line, touching third base, and touching home plate.  Participants in the boys baseball division run a total of 160 feet, whereas those in the girls softball division run a total of 120 feet.
