Flags Flying at Half-staff in Port, Saukville Through Saturday
Gov. Scott Walker orders the move as mark of respect for fallen Fond du Lac police officer.
Both United States and Wisconsin flags are to be flown at half-staff for the rest of the week in respect for a Fond du Lac police officer who lost his life in the line of duty on Sunday, according to a press release from Gov. Scott Walker's administration.
Officer Craig Birkholz, the man killed on Sunday, was also an Army veteran; he served in Iraq and Afghanistan and became part of the Fond du Lac police department, according to the release.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday for Birkholz, and flags are to remain at half-staff until that day.
