Police Respond to Hit-and-Run, Arrest Drunk Man for Unrelated Inicident
Police realize there's a warrant out for Port Washington man after responding to an incident involving a van he had been driving.

A 30-year-old Port Washington man is facing disorderly conduct and drug charges after his allegedly stolen van shows up as the suspect vehicle in a utility pole hit-and-run.
Thomas W. Elder, 1046 Westport Dr., Unit 129, was charged Dec. 28 in Ozaukee County Circuit Court with one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of disorderly conduct. If convicted, he could face up to four months in prison and $1,500 in fines.

On Oct. 22, police were called after a hit-and-run accident with a utility pole was reported near Church Street and Railroad Street. Upon arriving, they were approached by Elder and a woman who claimed her van had been stolen while it was parked outside Jβs Sports Bar.
The van was later found damaged by the pole; Elder, who was was extremely intoxicated, said the van had been stolen after he parked it.

At some point during the discussion about the damaged pole and "stolen" van, police realized there was a warrant out for Elder and he was arrested. After searching him, police then found a marijuana pipe in his pocket.
Afer his arrest, Elder began calling the officers "Nazis" and threatened to beat one of them up. After being taken into custody he continued to yell and resist officers until his handcuffs had to be forcibly removed when he refused to cooperate.
He is scheduled to make his inital court appearance at 8:45 a.m. Feb. 15.
