Midwest retailer Meijer will kick off its signature hunger relief program, Simply Give, today in Wisconsin in an effort to help its partnering food pantries – Family Sharing of Ozaukee County Food Pantry and Interfaith Shalom Center Food Pantry – restock their shelves.
The fall Simply Give campaign will run through Sept. 12. Simply Give donation cards can now be purchased at the new Grafton and Kenosha Meijer stores; Oak Creek and Wauwatosa Meijer stores will participate upon their grand opening on Aug. 4.
During each Simply Give campaign, customers are encouraged to purchase a $10 Simply Give donation card upon checkout. The donation will then be converted into Meijer food-only gift cards and given to the local food pantry selected by the store after the campaign concludes. Meijer will also contribute more than $1 million to the 2015 Simply Give program.

To celebrate National Hunger Action Day, Meijer will double match customers’ donations on Sept. 3-5. That means for every $10 donation card purchase, Meijer will contribute $20, resulting in a total $30 donation.
