Program teaches care techniques for those with Alzheimer's disease

Newcastle Place, a full-service senior living community in Mequon, is proud to announce that 26 staff members have completed requirements for the Heartfelt Connections Memory Care Program, a trademark program of Life Care Services. Requirements include a 16-hour program that educates caretakers on how to care for those with Alzheimer’s disease and related memory-impairing dementias.

“As a dedicated team here at Newcastle Place, we always strive to learn how to provide a continuum of care that embraces excellence, exceeds expectations, engages in the practice of person-centered care and ensures that each resident’s life is enriched every day,” said Jennifer Sutherland, community life services director and Heartfelt Connections instructor at Newcastle Place. “The Heartfelt Connections Memory Care Program helps us to provide these essentials to our memory care residents and their families here at Newcastle Place.”

The Heartfelt Connections Memory Care Program is an innovative program for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other related memory-impairing dementias. Residents are enabled to achieve the highest quality of life and the highest level of functioning, while always maintaining their dignity.
