Pirates Tennis Prepare for Approaching Season

Port Washington High School girls' tennis team looks forward to a strong season.

The girls tennis team has started the season with fresh faces and enthusiasm.

Julie Pfrang and Jennifer Garven and have joined veteran coaches Peter Albert and Jerry Heck for the 2011 season. The coaches are looking forward to a great season with seven returning seniors and eight juniors making up a strong varsity team.

There are six juniors and six freshmen on the junior varsity team, which is made up of experienced players as well as players who have never played tennis before.

Competing within the northshore conference will be toughest challenge for the team; Pirate coaches are impressed with the girls hard work on the court and in the classroom.

The Pirates take on Milwaukee Lutheran at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 25; matches will be played at Courts.
