Port Chamber's Crivello Urges All to Help Improve City
Lisa Crivello, long-involved with the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce and this year named its executive director, says complaining isn't the way to get issues resolved.

As head of the , Lisa Crivello has assumed the nebulous task of trying making Port Washington a better community — as well as getting the entire community involved.
Crivello, who has lived in the area for her entire life and in Port for 24 years, has been involved with the chamber for almost a decade. She got her start as a chamber member when she worked for M&I Bank, and she later became the organization's treasurer.
She sort of fell into the position as executive director, Crivello told Patch in an e-mail, when the former director left and Crivello began assuming some of the position's duties.

As a chamber member, Crivello helped to organize activities and fundraisers, volunteering her time whenever it was needed. When the executive spot opened up, she volunteered herself for the job, and now her vision is more far-reaching.
"(I want) to make Port Washington a better community and (get) everyone to work together to do that," Crivello said.

And getting the entire community involved, she said, is about much more than airing grievances and "complaining."
"Instead of complaining about problems, there are more ways to be involved and try to resolve these issues," Crivello said. "I feel that you have no reason to complain — you get the benefits of how much time and effort you put into it."
Crivello said her favorite thing about Port is the festivals, and she is most proud of being asked to participate in the upcoming Garden Walk.
Her advice to continued success?
"You will not see results unless you work at getting results."
