Port Chamber's New Director Calls Role a 'Great Fit'

Patricia "Dooley" Vogel excited to be promoting Port Washington through her position with the Chamber of Commerce.

Excited about her new role as the director of the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce, Patricia "Dooley" Vogel said she is eager for the positive impact she can make in the community.

"This is such a great fit and I enjoy Port Washington so much and I am passionate about it," Vogel said. "(The chamber board is) a nice group of people that enjoy each other and we’re really having fun, and I think we’re going to be able to do great things."

Vogel has been involved in fundraising efforts in one way or another for a number of years, she said, specifically pointing to money she helped raise for breast cancer. She was also highly involved in the planning of the St. Patrick's Day events this year, as well as planning the parade the event evolved from last year.

Vogel said the chamber is working to create a new website, spoke of an "I heart Port Washington" campaign and is happy to be working on "bringing the community together and promoting Port Washington and working on behalf of the community."

She is also thrilled about being able to help the business sector of the city.

"I work for them. I am not here to tell them what to do, I am here (to help them)," she said.

Barb Beattie, president on the chamber's board of directors, sent out an e-mail announcing Vogel's addition to the organization.

"Dooley has worked closely in our community organizing special events and promotions and is passionate about Port Washington," Beattie said in the e-mail. "She is eager to visit all of our businesses and to grow our membership."

Vogel has been the director of the chamber since early April, and said she was able to sign up 20 new members in the first week and a half starting her work.

Call the chamber at (262) 284-0900 or visit the Pebble House between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday to talk to Vogel and learn more about the chamber.
