At 12:01 a.m. Monday, Kuehmichel was driving southbound on Wisconsin Avenue near Beech Street when a Grafton police officer noticed he had a defective license plate light on his car. Kuehmichel then turned right on 12th Avenue, so the officer pulled him over.

Kuehmichel told the officer the car had a wiring issue, however the cop noticed the car smelled like marijuana, then spotted a baggie of the drug sitting in the center console. Kuehmichel handed the drugs over to the officer, who then search the car and found the two pipes along with a broom handle fashioned into a club.
