Port Man Charged After Taking Mom's SUV Without Permission
Suspect also facing charges in connection with theft from Anita's Garden residents.

A 30-year-old Port Washington man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly took his motherβs SUV without permission so he could drive to a friendβs house in Mequon.
Zachry K. Zirtzlaff, 445 W. Grand Ave., Unit 201, was charged in Ozaukee County Circuit Court on Tuesday with one count of operating a motor vehicle without the ownerβs consent, one count of felony bail jumping and one count of operating a motor vehicle after revocation of his license. If convicted, he could face up to 13 years in prison and $22,500 in fines.

Zirtzlaffβs mother called police Jan. 2 after he took her SUV without her permission; she also expressed concerned that heβs using drugs. Police discovered the SUV one hour later while it was parked in Hickory Court in Port Washington.
Zirtzlaff was arrested and told police he took the car after his mother said he couldnβt drive it and was planning to go to a friendβs house in Mequon.

Zirtzlaff had been released from custody after paying bail in connection with charges allegeding .
Heβs currently being held again in Ozaukee County Jail on $2,500 cash bond.
