Port Police Report: Woman Takes Pub Crawl a Bit Too Seriously

An intoxicated 29-year-old Port Washington woman took bar crawling to a whole new level Sunday afternoon, when she was reportedly crawling along the sidewalk on Grand Avenue near the Holiday Inn, screaming and yelling, when a concerned citizen called the police at 3:18 p.m.
When police arrived, the woman had made it down the block to outside . Police asked her what the problem was, but could not understand her response due to her level of intoxication, according to the police report.
The caller said she had been in an argument with her boyfriend, who tried to get her to come home, and then walked home without her.

The woman was cited for disorderly conduct and fined $208.

- Picking on a tree: Port Police noticed at 11:12 a.m. Saturday that a decorative tree on the east side of the road on Church Hill was downed. Police said it looked like someone had intentionally broken the tree at its base in an act of vandalism. There were no apparent signs that a vehicle had left the road.Β
- A new kind of tag on the playground: A worker for the called police at 2:56 p.m. Oct. 27 when he found graffiti on playground equipment and picnic tables at and . The tagging, done with a marker, did not include any identifiable words or names.
- Found bike: Police found an orange Next brand BMX bike in the brush on South Maple Street and Sherman Avenue at 12:08 p.m. Saturday. Police are keeping it in storage in hopes someone will identify it as theirs.
