Port Washington Police Report: Video Surveillance Clears Suspect

A suspected shoplifter was exonerated when a convenience store's video surveillance revealed the suspect had paid for the items.
Port Washington police responded to a shoplifting report at at 6:15 p.m. Feb. 8. Police reviewed video surveillance typically used to confirm suspicions, and, this time, the footage cleared the alleged suspect.

- Missing music: A 17-year-old Port Washington High School student reported her iPod was stolen from her backpack while she attended a strength training class Feb. 8.
- No texts to ex: Police warned a 41-year-old Adell man at 1:40 p.m. Thursday to stop texting his ex-girlfriend. The 28-year-old Port Washington woman said the text messages were unwanted. Police told the man another text to his ex would result in a citation.
- Slippery situation:Â A 47-year-old Port Washington woman told police, at 7:50 p.m. Friday, that she injured herself after falling on a patch of ice in the 100 block of East Jackson Street.
- Wishing for his jacket back: Police visited Willie's Wish, 119 E. Main St., at 8:22 p.m. Saturday after the bartender reported a 30-year-old West Bend man took his jacket and refused to give it back. Police referred the matter to the district attorney; the suspect faces possible disorderly conduct and theft charges.
