Sendik's, customers raise record $180,000 donation
Check presentation for Stars & Stripes Honor Flight held Friday with local veterans

Local grocer Sendik’s Food Markets, with the help of its customers, has collected a record donation of $180,000 for Stars & Stripes Honor Flight to recognize local veterans with trips to Washington, D.C., to view memorials.
The announcement and check presentation were made today at Sendik’s in Mequon. The money raised from customer contributions will fund 180 veterans to visit Washington, D.C., this October for a one-day, all-expenses paid trip to see the memorials and experience a full day of honor and thanks.
“This is all about our loyal customers and their wonderful hearts. It’s incredible that their support has made it possible to provide this gift to 180 local veterans,” said Sendik’s Family Co-owner Ted Balistreri. “We are proud to sponsor this trip as a way of showing our gratitude to local heroes for all they have done for our country. We hope it’s a wonderful, unforgettable experience.”
