Tanya Lohr, originally from Marathon, Wisconsin, is a graduate of The University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Social Studies and Viterbo University in LaCrosse, WI where she earned an M.A. in Education. Lohr has been an educator for 16 years, and has taught Social Studies at West Bend West High School for the last 13. In 2010, Lohr was selected for the prestigious National Fellowship in Korean Studies, awarded by the Korea Society, and traveled throughout South Korea with educators from around the United States. Lohr has also participated in Advanced Placement training in Chicago and was selected to attend the Model Schools Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. She has coached volleyball, basketball, track, and softball during her teaching career. Lohr’s hobbies include international and domestic travel, and playing sports, including volleyball and softball. She also played women’s professional football during the 2003-2004 season. Tanya is married to fellow educator, Andy Kougl. Their family includes their six-year-old twins and Kougl's two teenage daughters. Her parents, Rick and Joyce Lohr, live in Marathon, Wisconsin and her brother, Eric Lohr, and sister-in-law, Anya Schmemann, live in Bethesda, Maryland.
