7 Armed Robberies in 3 Hours in Milwaukee is part of Much Bigger Trend, Police Say

Police are urging caution on Milwaukee's near north side for residents and visitors - we learn now the problem is bigger than first reported

MILWAUKEE - Earlier, Patch.com reported that 7 Armed Robberies took place in just 3 hoursin the near north side of Milwaukee recently, but in fact, it's part of a much larger trend that police are investigating.

According to a report today by CBS 58, in reality, twenty armed robberies in almost the same area of Milwaukee have happened in just two months. The latest few happened just yesterday morning on the east side. An armed robber has been targeting unsuspecting people in the Brady Street and North Side areas.

Police are urging residents - and visitors - to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings near Brady Street, as well as residential areas of the east side, which are the ones being targeted.

The incidents reported this week were located at:

  • Water Street near Brady Street
  • Humboldt Avenue near Pleasant Street
  • Murray Avenue and Park Place
  • Cass Street near Lyon street
  • Capitol Drive and Holton Street
  • Breman Street and Hadley Street
  • 38th Street and Wright Street

CBS 58 is reporting that early yesterday morning between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., people were approached by a suspect showing either a gun or knife. The suspect then stole the victim's belongings and ran off. Four such reports were made with police about these incidents.
