• Former West Allis school will become affordable apartments (dailyreporter.com) — A proposed 19-unit affordable apartment building called The Oakleaf on North Oakland Avenue in Shorewood would receive a major federal grant under a Milwaukee County funding plan, but faces pushback over the loss of a 49-space village-owned parking lot. The same package would also support affordable housing projects in West Allis, Milwaukee's Bronzeville area, and a county transitional housing facility.
   

• Law license of attorney who spit on Black teen during 2020 protest suspended (wpr.org) — The Wisconsin Supreme Court has suspended attorney Stephanie Rapkin's law license for one year after finding her conduct, including spitting on a teenager during a 2020 protest in Shorewood, reflected poorly on her fitness to practice. Rapkin also previously secured a $760,000 settlement from insurers for Shorewood and Whitefish Bay over how police entered her home during her arrest.
