Alverno College Names Shorewood Resident New Director of Marketing and Communications

Alverno College has named Sebastian (Saj) Thachenkary Director of Marketing and Communications. In this role, he will oversee the development and execution of comprehensive marketing and communications that align with the mission and strategic goals of the College. This includes proactive external and internal communication, media relations, constituent communication, and brand management across web/interactive and print communication.
Thachenkary brings more than 20 years of strategic marketing, branding and communications experience to the College. Prior to joining Alverno, he served as Vice President of Marketing Communications for Johnson Financial Group. While there, he managed all aspects of the company’s communication including their website, public relations and brand management.
Prior to that, he worked for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as Brand Manager, where he led the marketing, event marketing and community relations teams. Earlier in his career at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, he was Creative Director, leading his team in the development of business-to-business and business-to-consumer campaigns.

Thachenkary earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.
