All day on Tuesday, November 29, 2012, eleven Pilot Club members shared the duty of ringing those Salvation Army bells. In the morning they urged on the mall walkers in front of the J C Penney store at Southridge Mall. The rest of the day they wished all the shoppers a very merry Christmas, happy holidays or a great day. Whatever their greeting, they spread good cheer for the Salvation Army and raised about $240 during the day.
Pictured here are Bruno Wolff (Shorewood), Judy Wood (Wauwatosa), and Rita Marsh (West Bend) three of the eleven Pilots who participated and had fun doing it.
Now in its 91st year, Pilot International is a volunteer service organization with nearly 400 Pilot Clubs in five countries. Pilot's service focus is brain health. Each year Pilot Clubs conduct programs and projects that assist those in their community who are affected by illnesses such as Autism, Alzheimer's Disease, traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD), schizophrenia and depression. During the last ten years the Pilot Club of Milwaukee Fund has donated over $28,000 to local community organizations.
