On Monday afternoon, January 21st, the Shorewood faculty will team with SHS students to distribute the Dollar Campaign letter to the residents of Shorewood. This event is just one part of the Shorewood Games 2013. In 1986, a group of students, spurred on by fellow classmate Gus Rich's battle with childhood cancer, organized two weeks of fundraising to support the MACC Fund - an organization which funds research to cure childhood cancer and related blood disorders.
The Shorewood Games have been a bright spot in difficult economies before -uniting the Shorewood Community and the students of Shorewood High School in fighting childhood cancer. Since the inception, the Shorewood Games have contributed over 130,000 to the MACC Fund. This year we have set a fundraising goal of 30,000.
Checks can be made out to the Shorewood Games/MACC Fund and returned to Lisa Bromley, Shorewood High School, 1701 East Capitol Drive, Shorewood, WI 53211. Residents may also donate at either of the North Shore Banks in Shorewood. Any questions should be directed to Mrs. Bromley, Games Advisor, at 963-6921.
