Become a mentor and change a child's life for the better, forever!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee (BBBS) is actively seeking new volunteers.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee (BBBS) is actively seeking new volunteers in Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties. Our professional, trained staff will be with you every step of the way! You can choose from our School-based Mentoring Program, where volunteers and children meet at one of our partnering school sites, our Community-based Mentoring Program, where you plan activities in the community and spend time together around town, or our new mentor2.0 program where you can mentor a Veritas High School student from almost anywhere. College students, young professionals, retirees, couples and many other adults make great mentors!

All volunteers must go through a thorough screening process which includes a formal application, a layered criminal background screening, references checks and an in-person interview. We ask for a minimum two-year relationship and the availability to meet or communicate with the child on a weekly basis. School-based volunteers must be 18 years or older and out of high school. Community-based volunteers must be 21 years or older. mentor2.0 volunteers must be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of a two-year college degree.

Our one-to-one mentoring programs help meet the growing needs of parents and guardians seeking assistance and support in providing better futures for their children. Each of our mentoring options has the power to change lives for the better, forever – one child at a time. Big Brothers Big Sisters carefully screens adult volunteer mentors and matches them with youth in the community, who are often from low-income, single-parent homes.
