Gardening Camps Offer Youth a Chance to Grow All Summer Long

Summer Gardening Programs for youth in the Greater Milwaukee Area

Research has continuously proven children’s exposure and interaction with gardening increases their willingness to consume fruits and vegetables.[1] Β Locally, Cedarburg, Grafton and Port Washington School Districts, amongst others, believe in this idea and have begun incorporating school gardens, farm visits, and monthly fresh, produce tastings in cafeterias for students.Β

As the summer months arrive, youth interaction with gardening has the opportunity to blossom. Β The greater Milwaukee area is a hub of gardening and local food activity, and many organizations provide summer gardening programs for youth.
