GOP Candidates Have No Answer for Unemployed Woman with No Health Insurance

Republican presidential candidates reassure unemployed woman they are working on a tax deduction for those who buy their own health car. But, hello, she's unemployed, with no income.

During the Republican debate last week, a woman from the audience tells the candidates that she lost her job along with it her health insurance. Not even one of the candidates had any encouraging words for her.

Basically they all told her (I'm paraphrasing), "When the economy gets better you'll get a job and get health care."

"We all support a tax deduction for people who have to buy their own health insurance."

Hello, she is out of work. She has no income. What good will a tax deduction do her even if she could possibly afford the coverage, which I would guess would be well over $1,200 per month.

The saddest thing about the "non" answer(s) to her question about being out-of-work and no insurance was when the candidates were done telling he; “so sad, too bad, live with it (or die if no health insurance)” is that she clapped when they were done.

Talk about "abuse syndrome." This woman must be used to being abused, she definitely has gone over the edge from a victim to a volunteer.
