The Real Political Stance of America is Democrat, Regardless of Election Results

America is liberal at heart

The last decade has been a vast wonderland of extremely close electoral races between Democrats and Republicans.

From national races such as the Presidential Election bewteen George Bush Jr. and Al Gore, to local races like that between Scott Walker and Tom Barrett. While it is obvious that the voting population is closely split, I do not believe that the majority political stance in America is that close. I believe that if every single eligible voter in our country actually voted, people would be surprise how far to the left our political spectrum would swing.

Unfortunately, many people don't vote for many reasons. Some think their vote won't really mean anything in the midst of millions of other votes, some don't care as long as nothing in their little life bubble is too affected, and some simply do not have the knowledge. The irony is, of course, that if all of these people voted I think America would have a much more clear idea of where the popular consensus says our countries path should be going.

If you look at the statistics of elections you will notice an almost unfailing stat which points to the fact that the higher the percentage of voter turnout the higher percentage of Democratic voting. The majority of non-voters are of the poor and urban population, a population which leans overwhelmingly to the left. Even the strategy used on the recall elections shows this to be true, the Democrats have been working hard and going door-to-door to get everyone they can out the vote. America is truly a liberal nation, but just as the wealth is in the hands of a few so is the power.

Get out and vote!
