Calling all kids: Join us for a Pre-Holiday Fun Day on Sunday, August 25th at 11am! With the High Holidays just around the corner, it's time to get ready, and have some fun. The Jewish Kids Club invites children and families to participate in array of exciting holiday activities.
First stop: challah baking! This traditionally braided egg bread is general eaten every Shabbat and holiday, but on Rosh Hashana, the upcoming Jewish New Year, we make special round challahs to signify the full cycle of the year. Children will have an opportunity to shape, egg, and bake their own challah to take home!
Next up: Decorating honey dishes! It's the Jewish candied apple. We all want a sweet new year, so each year on Rosh Hashana we eat apples dipped in honey. Children will design beautiful honey dishes to use
on the holiday.
And then: a live holiday Game Show! Children will have a chance to show off their knowledge and quick thinking in an interactive game show, and win a prize!
Want to wish someone a Happy New Year? Children will have fun at a holiday photo booth, and use their photo to create a New Year's card to send to a friend.
What's the buzz? Prepare to be amazed at a special show by a real beekeeper! Children will learn all about bees and how honey is made from the experts.
Enjoy a hot picnic lunch~Delicious food for sale.
