Car Burglaries Happening 'In All Areas' Of Shorewood

Police in Shorewood are again advising people to lock their vehicles when they're not around after a round of car thefts in the village.

SHOREWOOD, WI — Police in Shorewood are again advising people to lock their vehicles when they're not around after a round of car thefts in the village have left unsuspecting residents carless and criminals careless.

Since the beginning of May, the Shorewood Police Department has received 16 vehicle entry complaints. Of these, police say 14 of those vehicles were unlocked.

Police are also reporting that personal property has been reported stolen from these vehicles including money and expensive portable electronics. The entries are occurring in all areas of Shorewood.

The Shorewood Police Department again is urging residents to remove valuables from vehicles and please lock up. Most importantly, never leave a key fob or a spare key inside of the vehicle.
