Crime Time: OWI, Shorewood High School Theft

A 26-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for operating while intoxicated and possession of marijuana Monday after Shorewood police pulled the man over for speeding in the 3500 of North Oakland Avenue.
He smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech, and failed a sobriety test. His blood alcohol content was 0.24, three times the legal limit, police say.
Police later found marijuana in the car and said the man had an open bottle of alcohol out in plain view in his vehicle. He was also cited for operating without insurance.

- Two Shorewood teens were observed removing gift cards and money from a student’s wallet at on Monday. Police say the vice principal said the high school would handle the matter internally.
- A Shorewood woman told police Tuesday she received an anonymous letter containing a newspaper article opposing Gov. Scott Walker. Some sentences of the article were underlined in pen. The woman said she wanted police to know about the letter because she is a big supporter of the governor and showed it with signs on her lawn leading up to the November election.
- After a 21-year-old Milwaukee man threw a couple chairs at a doctor at a local practice after he was told he would have to wait to be seen. Police say the man was late for his doctor’s appointment because he went to the wrong location, and when he arrived at the doctor’s office at 3970 N. Oakland Ave., he was told he would have to wait to be seen.
