On Thursday morning, July 14th, MPD received a call from the Wisconsin Regional Crime Lab regarding the results of DNA testing derived from a tip that came in from a Ohio man relative to the 2002 disappearance of Alexis Patterson. The sample collected by law enforcement authorities in Ohio of a female there does NOT match that of Patterson’s.

Earlier this week:

Police said Monday that an Ohio woman who many believed may have been Alexis Patterson has proved that she is not the long-lost Milwaukee girl, after the woman produced documents confirming her true identity.
Milwaukee police had confirmed late Friday that they received a tip and were tracking a new lead in the missing person case of Patterson, who has not been seen in 14 years. The woman, who remains unidentified at the time, was reportedly angry and agitated by the attention but says she feels sorry for the Patterson's family.

The woman willingly submitted to a DNA test to prove that she wasn't Patterson. As it turned out, official documents provided to police confirmed the reportedly 28-year-old mother of two was not the answer to this unsolved case. The Ohio woman would have been seven years older than Patterson, according to a Journal Sentinel report.

According to a report out of Bryan, Ohio, midday Monday, Capt. Chris Chapa of the Bryan police department said the woman showed officers a visa, a passport and divorce documents which all establish her identity.

At the time of her disappearance, Alexis was 3 feet, 8 inches tall and weighed 42 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair. Alexis was last seen wearing a red hooded jacket with gray stripes, a purple shirt, blue jeans and white Nike tennis shoes.

She has a scar under her right eye and a bump on her left pinky finger.
